Born in Queens, New York, Shay Moore’s journey into broadcasting is as unexpected as it is inspiring. Once a quiet girl with a stutter, she found her voice as the halftime announcer for her high school marching band after her family relocated to Atlanta. From that moment on, it was clear: when Shay talks, people listen!
A proud graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, one of the nation’s premier HBCU’s, Shay earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications before going on to complete a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Medaille College. Armed with education and determination, she launched a radio career that has spanned 25 years, 11 radio stations, and six states; a rare achievement in an industry known for its turnover.
Her voice has been heard on some of the biggest stations in the country, (including V-103-Atlanta, KRNB & K104- Dallas, WYLD-FM & Q93 New Orleans, Power 98 & V101.9- Charlotte, 93.7 WBLK-Buffalo, and KPRS- Kansas City. Today, she holds down mornings as the host of “The Shay Moore Morning Show” on Power 105.1 FM- Kansas City while also being heard nationwide as the host of Westwood Kne’s “The Ride with Shay”, a nationally syndicated night show airing Monday through Saturday in over 40 cities!
